Scope of work:
Integrity is hiring a Project Manager to develop and support its growing delivery portfolio in DRC. The Manager will be based in London with travel to DRC.
The Manager will focus on high quality project delivery, client relations, proposal development, team management, quality assurance and methodological development. They will work flexibly across Integrity’s different services and directorates. The Manager will report to the DRC-focused Services Manager in London.
Terms of Reference:
A. Project manage ongoing USAID governance programme in DRC (50%)
- Manage Integrity’s overall delivery of Political Economy Analysis (PEA) studies across several provinces of DRC to feed into programming decisions
- Manage team of international and national consultants conducting qualitative research across several provinces of DRC, in both the east and west
- Conduct quality assurance of interim and final PEA products, as well as writing executive summaries and preparing PowerPoint presentations
- Design and conduct training on PEA methodology for key programme stakeholders in Kinshasa
- Provide ad hoc technical input and support the Lead PEA Researcher, as needed
B. Other project implementation (25%)
- Deliver technical inputs on other projects in DRC, including research, data analysis, and report writing.
- These projects include PEA studies for the DFID Education programme, ACCELERE!, and a Monitoring and Evaluation project on stabilisation in eastern DRC.
- Contribute to the delivery of contracted work through project management, including financial management, data management, client management and coordination of delivery efforts.
- Manage relationships with client representatives in DRC.
C. Proposal and business development (15%)
- Support efforts to identify new business opportunities in DRC across a range of different donors
- Contribute to the development of bids for new work in DRC, including writing technical and commercial proposals
- Identify new consultants for the region with the appropriate technical and management skills to deliver Integrity’s growing portfolio of work. Conduct interviews with shortlisted consultants to assess competencies, build their profile and establish areas of collaboration.
D. Corporate support (10%)
- Contribute to the strengthening of Integrity’s systems in delivering projects across DRC, including in contracting, operational support and duty of care, consultant management and situation analysis/monitoring.
Education and Experience:
The candidate will have:
- A Masters degree in a relevant field
- 5+ years of experience working across multiple provinces of DRC; specific experience in Kinshasa, Haut-Katanga, Kasai Central and North Kivu desirable
- 5+ years of experience managing governance programmes, preferably with experience working on USAID programmes
- Experience with qualitative research method design and data analysis
- Experience managing and working with international teams in different locations
Competencies:
The candidate will have:
- Knowledge of international best practices in governance work and political economy analysis
- Demonstrated leadership skills and an ability to work well both independently and in teams
- Demonstrated project management skills, such as team, financial, and client management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Demonstrated experience designing and applying quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Demonstrated personal commitment, flexibility, and efficiency
Languages:
- Written and oral fluency in English and French
- Language skills in Lingala or Swahili a plus
Location
- The candidate must be based in London and have the right to work in the UK
